NPD: Shooting victim refuses to cooperate | Crime
Newport police say a man who was shot twice Monday night refuses to tell officers what happened.
Just before 11 p.m. Romie Grady, Jr. walked into Harris Hospital and told the staff he had been shot.
According to Lt. Patrick Weatherford of the Newport Police Department, the 38-year-old Newport man had been shot at least twice.
However, Weatherford said Grady was “uncooperative with investigators” and would not provide any information on the shooting.
Weatherford said the NPD’s 911 dispatch center, which handles emergency calls for all of Jackson County, had not received any “shots fired” calls in the hours before the shooting.
“At this time, we do not know where this incident occurred,” Weatherford said.
Anyone who has any information regarding this shooting is encouraged to contact the NPD at (870) 523-2722.
Grady was taken to a Little Rock hospital where he is listed in stable condition. He is expected to survive.
