Two Newport residents killed in crash | News

Four people died Saturday, including two Jackson County residents, in a head-on crash in Grant County.

According to Corporal Lorie Ring of the Arkansas State Police, the crash happened at 11:37 a.m. on U.S. Highway 167 near Sheridan.

Ronald Gana, 52, of Newport was traveling south when a 2005 Chevy Suburban crossed the center line and struck his 2008 Dodge Ram head-on.

Gana and his passenger, 52-year-old Virginia Gana, also of Newport, were killed.  Willie Lewis, 53, and Ashly Lewis, 13, both of Little Rock, were killed in the Suburban.

Caleb Kain, 14, and Nathan Kain, 17, of Little Rock were injured.  They were taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
